 | LabWare's decisions regarding hardware, operating systems and database platforms are based on a variety of criteria. Chief among them is that our technology choices should improve rather than compromise the customer's position relative to value and risk, and that they should not impose unnecessary constraints or disruption to the customer's business.
This means that to the extent practical we have engineered our products to be platform independent.
LabWare LIMS adheres to technology standards while at the same time it avoids brand and version/release dependencies. This approach is a true differentiator within the industry, and it places our customers in the most advantageous position possible with regard to their technology choices. Equally important, it also helps to reduce or even eliminate much of the burden on LabWare in the areas of version synchronization and control, SQA testing, and structural validation.
The LabWare LIMS Client runs on any contemporary MS Windows variant. The Server component (the database) may be installed on anything from Windows to UNIX to Linux, and may utilize any relational database from Oracle to SQL Server to DB2. Even within a given operating system or database family, our product is not reliant on a specific revision or point release level.
This architecture model enables LabWare to meet our customer's requirements regardless of their corporate standards, without the added technical and administrative overhead imposed by developing and managing multiple[internal] "products". It also affords our customers a level of technology and investment protection not afforded by other suppliers. |
