LabWare Joins IBM PartnerWorld to Enhance its LIMS Solution Offerings for the Life Sciences Market
ORLANDO, FL (March 10, 2003) – LabWare, Inc., a global leader in supplying mission-critical Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and instrument interfacing software, announced today at The Pittsburgh Conference (PITTCONŽ 2003) that it has signed an agreement with IBM Life Sciences Business Unit to participate in IBM’s prestigious PartnerWorld Program.
Joining the PartnerWorld Program enables LabWare to combine its extensive domain expertise in the LIMS marketplace with IBM’s marketing, technical and development support. The IBM Life Sciences Solutions Business Unit will be the focal point for initial activities. Combined with IBM’s core strength in providing robust technology and global services, the IBM Life Sciences business unit delivers scalable infrastructure solutions that are unique to the life sciences industry. A key part of the IBM initiative involves creation of the Global Life Sciences Consulting and Solutions practice, which enables IBM to focus its professional service capabilities. This organization is also available as a resource through the partnership program, and provides an extensive resource for integration services and customer-specific development activities.
Commenting on the new level of collaboration, Scott Jenkins, IBM’s Life Sciences Devices and Diagnostic Segment Executive stated: “We are excited about this recent development. IBM and LabWare clearly share the goal of providing our joint Life Sciences customers with total information management solutions. We are both committed to integrating our technologies to create complete solutions that enhance our customer’s regulatory compliance, increase productivity and link all critical data throughout their enterprise.”
“The PartnerWorld program opens up outstanding new opportunities for LabWare”, said Steven Neri, LabWare’s Director of Strategic Partnerships. “The fact that LabWare was approached by IBM to participate in this program is evidence of our visibility and momentum in the marketplace, and in particular of our leadership position in the Life Sciences segment. The key value that LabWare brings to this relationship is that our current products are widely adopted and are already fully compatible with IBM’s strategic technologies. This enables us to offer an immediate impact for IBM, and to bring incremental value to our customers in the near term.”
