User Configuration

LabWare LIMS has been specifically designed for the Windows operating environment, to be flexible, intuitive and easy to use.  The graphical user interface incorporates all the common features of Microsoft Windows environment, using icons, graphics and colors to clearly and rapidly convey information about the data stored in LIMS. Driven by the mouse or the keyboard, users can easily locate and identify the data and perform tasks with LIMS.  LabWare LIMS has adopted the accepted convention of the Windows environment, so if you are already familiar with the Windows Explorer interface and spreadsheet type applications, many of the same concepts transfer through to LabWare LIMS.  The menu structures and function key usage are consistent with the Windows conventions, so new LIMS users will rapidly become familiar with the LabWare LIMS environment.

The user interface can easily be configured for individual users making it simple and efficient to use.  The menus, icons and screen text can be tailored to your laboratories' requirements, using images and terminology that are meaningful to your users.  Of course, the user interface also supports different languages.

Access to information within LabWare LIMS can be optimized by applying filters to the data, based on individual user's requirements. For example, a laboratory analyst working in a particular section may only want to see samples assigned to that section.  In addition to the data security controlled access to data, by filtering out other samples, the analyst can quickly identify the work allocated to them.  By focusing on the data of interest, users can rapidly retrieve the information from LIMS.
