The LabWare LIMS Community - How the Web Drives the Product Laboratory Information Management Systems are complex applications. Laboratories' needs vary greatly, the labs are often highly regulated, which involves further complexity, and one wants to enable the customers themselves to configure their system with no specialized IT knowledge. On top of this, the system architecture must be such that the inevitable extensions brought about by new customer requirements and advances in technology provide a stable and seamless upgrade path from version to version. How do you coordinate this among all the role-players: the customers, the consultants and the employees, for example? This section shows some of the ways that LabWare uses the Internet to support and develop LIMS and how, in the process, we have developed a highly satisfied and enthusiastic LIMS community around the world.
