Abstract
The FDA has imposed stringent regulatory requirements upon the Pharmaceutical Industry in the areas of Analytical Research and Development as well as GXP Manufacturing. These compliance issues are suitably addressed with the use of appropriate Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). Such systems also empower the business by providing a powerful set of tools for increasing efficiency and improving data sharing. LIMS systems automate workflows, establish a framework for instrument interfacing and facilitate research collaboration across the enterprise. A properly designed LIMS system is an essential and necessary component in meeting regulatory compliance for any Pharmaceutical company. More importantly, LIMS systems preserve and protect intellectual property and foster competitive advantage.
