In most laboratories, review and approval by specified personnel prior to final acceptance of test results is of critical importance. Typically there can be the requirement for multiple levels of review in addition to the requirements for different review procedures based on the nature and type of work being carried out. LabWare LIMS facilitates this entire process, providing comprehensive sample, test and result review, which can be carried out by suitably authorized users using intuitive screens. For ease of use, review & approval can be performed from many different areas within LabWare LIMS including folders (typically used to group samples or tests together for review) and batches (used for instrument runs). This provides you with the ability to logically group together samples, tests and results which need to be reviewed together. These stages can be coordinated so that the review process is streamlined. Additionally, approval or rejection can be automated based on your business rules, facilitating review by exception. Different levels of review can be provided. Sample review will automatically approve all the tests and results below it (descending hierarchy). One stage down from this is test review which would be used to approve at the test and result level. The next stage down from this would be result level review, allowing individual results to be approved. In this manner it is easy to build up multiple levels and criteria for reviewers. There are also additional stages that can be added into the approval process for example once the samples are approved, the final "release" step will be performed by another authorized person. More complex sequences of approvals and routings can also be set-up requiring multiple reviewers to approve the sample and information. The review process enables the operator to review at the result level, test level or sample level with the ability to authorize or reject the results for the test, the tests themselves and the samples. Review comments can be added and all information pertinent to the review process is displayed during the review process. The multitude of checks within LabWare LIMS that occur are all designed to ensure that a potential problem is trapped at a much earlier stage than the review process. Results can also be reviewed in LabWare LIMS using an intuitive spreadsheet style grid interface.  All of the review functions are provided, and the grid can group samples and tests together by any combination for review.  Sample, test and results can be both individually or multi-selected and reviewed in one step. To help you, many visual indicators are provided to reflect the Review status of the results.
