Secured Reporting

At the request of our Pharmaceutical customers, LabWare developed the Secure Reports module that enables LabWare LIMS to produce controlled documents from LIMS and be able to maintain tight document security both inside and outside of the LIMS environment.  Any Crystal Report that is generated by LIMS can be secured to prevent the report from being edited or printed outside of the LIMS system. This enables LIMS to track the user who generates the Secure Report as well as the number of times that the report has been printed, because LIMS maintains a master electronic copy of the report and stores the report on a secure network file share.  LIMS assigns each Secure Report a unique document number for tracking purposes and maintains a database record describing the report that includes the ability to flag if any of the underlying data has changed since the last time the report was printed.  Additionally, LabWare Secure Reports inherently know if they have been superceded by a more recent report.

The LabWare Secure Reporting capability is ideal for important documents such as Certificates of Analysis, Product Specifications reports, or any official document that you may wish to have an electronic signature embedded in the document.  This helps your labs comply with the 21 CFR Part 11 Electronic Signatures rule by embedding the full name of the signer, date & time of the signing event, and the reason for the signing into the secure report.

LabWare Secure Reports are based upon the popular Adobe Acrobat PDF technology. This platform independent document format means you can provide secure electronic copies of the report to non-users of the LabWare LIMS system and they will be able to display and review the report information using the Adobe Acrobat Reader, yet these users cannot modify any data in the report. An example of a secure report is provided below for a fictitious pharmaceutical sample.
