Sometimes events can occur in the laboratory that cause the analyst to question the results obtained, and a further investigation of the sample is required. Or perhaps material tested in the laboratory has been reported as defective after release, for example in a customer complaint. LabWare LIMS' Investigation Manager allows you to initiate further analysis of a sample or other data in LIMS to determine the nature of the problem

In LabWare LIMS samples, test results and instruments can be placed under a scientific investigation.  The Investigation Manager is used to investigate and assign cause to any questionable data recorded in LIMS. The original sample and test data form the core of the investigation, but secondary samples or tests and supporting documentation can be brought into the investigation and related to the item(s) under scrutiny. Any information recorded in LabWare LIMS can be associated with an investigation. The Investigation Manager brings together all this data for easy analysis, reporting and interpretation.

The Investigation Manager module has also been integrated with LabWare's Contact Manager to enable all communications between customers and laboratory staff to be documented and tracked within the scientific investigation.  When an item in LIMS is under investigation, simply pressing the <F5> key will display all related data and information collected as part of the investigation.

When the investigation is complete, a final conclusion can be recorded within LabWare LIMS.
