 | Result entry is one of the key areas within LabWare LIMS since operators spend a significant amount of their time entering results. To help you with this, LabWare provides extensive capabilities for managing result entry. Result entry can be divided into two main categories, that of manual result entry and automatic result entry directly from instrumentation.
Result entry is provided using a variety of common, easy-to-use screens, which help to simplify the process and assist you in reducing transcription errors. These allow you to enter results for selected tests, for selected samples as well as for groups of samples and tests, giving you all the flexibility you need.

Result entry is provided directly from the areas that operators use on a daily basis such as Folders, Projects and Batches. These provide the flexible mechanisms which group samples and tests together so that they can be worked on collectively.
Samples and tests can be individually selected and results entered, as well as multi-selected and results entered in a spreadsheet format. For ease of operation, results can be entered using different layouts arranged by sample as well as by test. In addition to this, tests can be filtered so that large result entry spreadsheets can be easily worked on test by test.
Visual assistance and guidance is provided throughout result entry, so that different types of results can all be handled and entered easily and quickly. As well as handling numerics including decimal places, significant figures and rounding, drop down lists provide choices to the operator to select from. Textual and date information can be easily entered, links to external documents can be performed, with many other result types catered for. With LabWare LIMS, calculations can all be automatically performed, using the powerful calculation builder facilities. Within LabWare LIMS, complex calculations across tests and samples are easy to define. Many other facilities are provided to allow additional comments to be added, or where required, additional tests and replicates can be added.
Result entry also stores all the associated information required providing you with complete traceability which is so important in today's environments. Information such as the operator and the date and time of result entry, as well as the instrument used, can all be captured against the individual result entered. In conjunction with the powerful Audit Trail, full traceability and security is provided. For regulated environments, full controls to assist compliance with 21 CFR Part 11 are provided as standard.
The whole process of verification during result entry is extensively covered with LabWare LIMS, with complete information always provided. At any stage drill down provides instant access to full sample, test and result information. Checking against instrument calibration and maintenance limits to ensure that that they can be used is automatically performed. Checking for user certification for both the analysis as well as the instruments can be automatically performed. Checking against specifications and control limits provides instant and clear indications of any potential product quality issues, with the ability to trigger events at any stage such as re-tests and reports.
With LabWare LIMS result entry is comprehensively covered, providing you with both ease of use and the controls required allowing you to work the way you want to. |
