Study Management

The handling of the study and its samples is handled within a user-friendly and powerful multi-dimensional grid. You can monitor the location and status of the samples, pull the samples from storage, test and review them and even get comparative summaries, all from within the Stability Manager Grid Interface.

As Stability Samples within LabWare LIMS are also normal samples, they can be easily combined with other samples (such as Batch Release samples) on worksheets and other activities. Any actions performed on Stability Samples will be reflected when the samples are viewed within the Stability Manager.

The Stability Manager is a multi-dimensional grid, where a vast number of interrelated samples can be viewed and navigated with ease. The most common uses of the grid axes are for Storage Conditions, Time Points, Packaging Variations and multiple Batches / Lots. It can even handle special circumstances, such as Storage Orientation (Upright, Inverted) and other characteristics.

Time Points can be defined to meet your specific needs, such as in the number of days vs. the number of months. LabWare LIMS includes the concept of a Time Window, where an Available Date, a Target Date and a Required Date are defined for each sample. This allows maximum flexibility in the scheduling and testing of the samples. It is even possible to use any sample within the entire LabWare LIMS as Time-Zero, whether it is an existing Batch Release sample or a sample specifically tested for the study itself.

The storage and testing scheme for the samples can be defined within the Protocol, which is then normally copied to each related Study.  Any element of these schemes can be modified within a Study, without affecting the original protocol. Modifications include adding more time points to the study and adding more tests to the samples. These modifications are made by simply highlighting the desired samples, clicking the right mouse button and choosing the appropriate command.

LabWare LIMS will keep full inventory information about the stored stability samples, including the amounts of reserves stored and used during the life of the study. Samples can be moved from place to place as necessary, with full audit trail and traceability.
