|While the User Group Meetings provide customers and consultants with the best means of sharing information, they are only held once a year in each location and, of course, not everybody is able to attend. In order to provide a year-round forum LabWare has set up various e-mail discussion lists. |
There is a list for customers and a separate list for consultants. Consultants would normally subscribe to both lists, using the consultants lists when the content is, for example, related to unreleased modules. The Sales List allows the sales force within LabWare to coordinate their activities worldwide.
The Customer and Consultant Lists are used mainly to request help from or to give help to other users and to share hints and tips. Sometimes the threads go on for many e-mails and there is involvement from every continent. When a South African user opens up their email they will see correspondence from the American continent sent after they left the office the previous evening. Then they will see mail from New Zealand, Australia and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region already in their mailbox. During the early part of their morning they will see mail from their own region and from the Eastern parts of Europe and later the Western parts of Europe become active. Finally, shortly after their lunchtime, they will begin to receive mail from America again.
