Description

LabWare Asia Pacific is seeking a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Consultant specialising in clinical diagnostics to join our team in Australia. This is a great career growing opportunity to join the leading international LIMS vendor and be part of a professional organisation. Successful candidates will have worked in a diagnostic pathology laboratory (core laboratory) with a sound understanding of diagnostic pathology workflows and processes. They should also ideally have a background in Laboratory IT and technical support skills within the laboratory industry. Previous informatics, consultancy, or business analysis experience will be beneficial.
Successful candidates will receive internal training and mentoring prior to working on customer projects. This is an exciting role with a variety of responsibilities and travel throughout Asia Pacific. Opportunities for global exposure and international travel will also arise.

 

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise and input for LabWare’s Clinical offerings in Asia Pacific
    • Analyse and document customer requirements and business process.
    • Translate business requirements to application functional requirements.
    • Configure the LabWare LIMS solution to meet the customer needs.
    • Instrument interfacing and interfacing to external systems
    • Deliver LabWare training courses to customers.
    • Assist customers with their validation and testing stages appropriate to their industry.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and provide direction to customers.
    • Travel to customer sites for implementation and configuration projects.
    • Learn other industry-specific processes, requirements, and operations (e.g. Contract Lab, Pharmaceutical, Food, Forensics, etc.)

Requirements

  • • Tertiary qualification in Laboratory Medicine (or equivalent) and a keen interest in
    Laboratory IT.
    • Aptitude for problem-solving and critical thinking
    • Understanding of relational database and structured query language (SQL)
    • Knowledge of/Understanding of interoperability Tools - HL7 & Web Services
    • Knowledge of/Understanding of common instrument interfaces (e.g. ASTM)
    • Knowledge of/Understanding of LIMS and it’s purpose
    • Good understanding of diagnostic laboratory processes and workflows including sample lifecycles.
    • Excellent organisational, time management and commitment to delivery.
    • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills.
    • Ability to accommodate overnight travel.

Candidates need to reside near a capital city with an international airport.
