Job Description

The consultant’s role is to proactively guide and assist customers in implementing and operating LIMS and Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) systems. The consultant is responsible for promoting the "best-practice" adoption of the LabWare Solutions Suite and ensures a successful engagement with LabWare over the lifetime of the system. The position would be ideally suited to an experienced LIMS professional, but we will also consider applications from recent Science or Informatics graduates. In the case of science graduates (Chemistry or Biology), the candidate should demonstrate a strong affinity for Information Technology. Exposure to databases and programming would be particularly useful.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with customers to gather User Requirements
  • Configuration and deployment of LabWare Solutions Suite
  • Implement interfaces with external applications
  • Implement instrument integration with LabWare Solutions Suite
  • Develop and maintain superior LabWare product knowledge - Ability and willingness to work independently and with a team - Train and mentor other consultants

Mandatory Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, in Informatics or Science
  • Understanding of database concepts such as SQL, tables and fields
  • Understanding of programming, proficiency in at least one language
  • Strong Customer Support skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Adept in self-learning - Attention to detail - Excellent organizational, time management and follow-through skills - Self-motivated
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) - Positive attitude, ability to motivate customers and establish credibility
  • Fluent in French and English (verbal and written)

Desirable Skills

  • Experience configuring, and deploying laboratory and/or scientific software solutions would be an advantage
  • Experience with tools such as Crystal Reports.
  • Working knowledge of current web technologies - Major current Operating Systems – Windows knowledge
  • Familiar with laboratory workflows
