LabWare 2025 EU CEC Highlights

The 2025 LabWare European Customer Education Conference brought 700 members from the LabWare community together in Glasgow for an inspiring week of learning, connection, and hands-on engagement. From customer case studies to product updates, partner innovations, and advanced training, this year's EU CEC showcased how LabWare continues to empower laboratories across industries with more innovative, more connected solutions.

Customer Success Stories: Real-World Results Across Industries A Week of Learning and Collaboration 

Our customers took center stage to share their experiences implementing and optimizing LabWare solutions: 

  • Merck Group (MerckMillipore): Stuart Kain demonstrated how LabWare Environment Manager (LEM) streamlines LIMS development, improving consistency and efficiency across the system lifecycle. 

  • ERBC: Chiara Olmi and Davide Massari offered practical tips for managing phased LabWare Bioanalysis deployments, aligning user needs with long-term business goals. 

  • BaseClear: Sander Overkleeft highlighted a phased LIMS rollout that delivered GMP-compliant workflows, instrument integration, and real-time data trending. 

  • Laboratorio Antidoping FMSI: Xavier de la Torre shared how LabWare LIMS supports Rome's anti-doping laboratory preparations for the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympics, ensuring WADA compliance and forensic data integrity. 

  • LGC: Paul Kemp showcased how LGC leverages LabWare across operations, including a state-of-the-art Berlin site integrating LabWare QC, LabX, and ERP systems. 

  • GBA Pharma GmbH: Xaver Schratt emphasized the importance of strong project management, team engagement, and leadership support in successfully rolling out LIMS across multiple sites. 

  • DSM Firmenich: Federico Brianza and Kristen Edwards detailed a global LIMS approach, emphasizing Master Data governance and harmonization across diverse product types and international labs. 

  • Takeda: Skerolf Dickinger discussed navigating the complexities of global LIMS deployment on AWS across 20+ sites, highlighting infrastructure management, customization, and global collaboration. 

  • Evotec: Claudia Menini, Mosè Bottacini, and Fabio Carraro presented an automated stability data transfer solution leveraging LabWare web services to support structured regulatory submissions and AI-driven review, now live with AstraZeneca. 

Industry Partners: Expanding the LabWare Ecosystem 

The 2025 LabWare European CEC welcomed a strong lineup of partner exhibitors whose technologies continue to advance the future of laboratory operations. We were pleased to host Simplica, Nymi, Körber, Mettler Toledo, and ABB, each bringing innovative solutions seamlessly integrating with LabWare’s platform. 

 From secure digital identities and automated compliance workflows to advanced robotics, connected instruments, and streamlined data flow, these partners demonstrated how collaboration across the ecosystem drives smarter, more efficient, and more connected laboratories. Their technologies complement LabWare’s solutions, offering customers expanded capabilities to meet today’s challenges and prepare for tomorrow’s opportunities. 

 Their contributions added valuable insight and energy to this year’s event, underscoring the strength and continued growth of the LabWare partner network. 

Of special note, Marina Bill from ABB and Anders Lindh of Mettler Toledo highlighted their joint automation solutions with a captivating plenary presentation. The presentation showcased how robotics in sample prep, logistics, instrument management, and Mettler Toledo’s LabX™ software solution help labs overcome backlogs, boost throughput, and optimize resources through fully integrated automation ecosystems. 

LabWare Updates: New Capabilities, Expanded Services, and a Look Ahead  

LabWare leadership and technical teams provided key updates on the company’s vision, new offerings, and product roadmap: 

  • Global Business Overview: Vance Kershner emphasized LabWare's long-term vision, financial growth, and customer-first philosophy, and how we’re redefining long-term customer success. 

  • UK Market Highlights: Graham Langrish and Tony Martin shared LabWare's growing momentum in the UK across multiple industries, with growing interest in SaaS solutions and real-world success. 

  • Customer Care Program (LCCP): John Perry introduced LabWare’s unified support model to deliver more proactive, comprehensive system support. 

  • System Expansion Strategies: Dunja Vuksan, Hannah Hansen Erlandsson, and Silvia Selnekovič outlined practical guidance for successful system growth, emphasizing careful planning, change management, and ongoing collaboration. 

  • Breakout Session Overview: Tom Redmond previewed this year's packed breakout agenda, covering everything from AI-driven capacity planning and mobile lab functionality to validation support and customer feedback. 

  • LabWare Analytics: Pat Strickler demonstrated the power of LabWare Insights dashboards and real-world data science applications driving smarter, faster decisions in stability, production, and method validation. 

  • LabWare LIMS: Chris Spooner and Meric Overman unveiled features of the upcoming LabWare release, a modernized UI, enhanced web services, custom theming, improved accessibility, and strengthened security. 

  • Cybersecurity: Meric Overman reinforced the importance of staying current with LabWare updates, walking through the company’s proactive vulnerability management process and newly available security modules. 

Looking Ahead 

Christian De Franceschi closed the conference by thanking attendees, partners, and the event team for making the 2025 EU CEC a tremendous success.
